Butex 14th International Conference
July 14-17, 2020

We’re aiming to focus this online conference entirely on the sector’s experience of and responses to the COVID-19 outbreak and what we’ve learnt for the future. Some ideas for topics are:

  • Responses and lessons learnt from the COVID-19 outbreak
  • Best practice development as a result of the pandemic that will be useful for future-proofing – this could be around (for both inbound and outbound students):
    • Student Communications
    • Inter-departmental collaboration
    • Partnership collaboration
    • Student support including repatriation efforts
    • Supporting inbound students unable to return home
    • Working with third party providers (e.g. travel agents, international support organisations, mobility providers)
  • Maintaining mobility momentum/managing student expectations & needs for the upcoming 2020/21 academic year (inbound and outbound)
  • Reigniting interest in mobility and marketing mobility for the academic year 2021/22 and ‘post-COVID world’ (inbound and outbound)
  • New, or already future-proofed, methods of mobility, including:
    • Virtual mobility
    • Hybrid mobility
    • Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)
